Foodtography Friday: Spices

When Yuseff and I moved in together we ended up with a lot of multiples– especially in the kitchen. We have 16 wooden spoons, 2 can openers, 3 whisks, 3 sets of measuring cups, 3 sets of measuring spoons, 2 sets of knives, 3 sets of pots and pans, 2 full sets of dishes, etc. And the crazy thing is that we actually threw away or donated a lot of other stuff. Maybe we are hoarders?

In any case, we also ended up with two fully loaded spice racks. As we started to use up the spices, I decided to give them a make-over using chalkboard paint. This tied them together and let us clear out some space in the pantry. Now– instead of having two spice racks with the same spices (basil, parsley, black pepper, cinnamon, paprika, etc), we could move the more unusual (but well loved and often used) spices to the racks.
