It’s been awhile since we’ve made something special for Saturday morning breakfast, so last weekend I decided to make these delicious, heart-shaped, strawberry-banana pancakes for my two favorite valentines:

Step 1: In a bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, combine 1 mashed banana, 1/2 cup chopped strawberries, 1 egg, 1 cup milk, and 2 tbsp melted butter.
Step 3: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and combine. This makes a much thicker batter than traditional pancakes.
Step 4: Heat your pan over medium heat and pour in your batter. Flip when you see bubbles start to form and burst on the surface.
Serve with a strawberry heart garnish and maple syrup!
